„Blue Caprice” разказва историята на (божиите чеда) Джон Алън Мухамед и 14-годишния Лий Бойд Малбо, които през октомври 2002 г. влязоха в черната хроника на Съединените щати (а и на света), когато в рамките на три седмици станаха причина за смъртта на 10 души и за тежкото раняване на още трима. Трагедия, която става известна като „Beltway sniper attacks”.
